When the global pandemic broke out in 2020, it posed innumerable challenges to our daily existence, including that of schoolchildren everywhere. Our own employees, some single parents, were faced with the disruption of “school life as normal,” and the very real logistical complications of balancing work and homeschooling.
In response, Christensen Law rented an adjacent suite to our Southfield office, outfitted it as a classroom, hired the amazing Marsha Carreker, a retired teacher, and officially opened Christensen Academy for the ongoing education of our work family’s children. Together with her husband Tyrone, also an educator, Mrs. C provided 1:1 tuition and enrichment studies to complement the children’s online curriculum.
From music lessons to field trips and public speaking lessons in honor of Black History Month, the Academy provided a level of continued education and engagement for our CLAW youngsters. We wish them all the best for the summer and congratulate them on all their achievements throughout a very challenging, and remarkable, year.
