Practice Areas
We focus our practice on serious injury and wrongful death cases caused by the negligence of others. Our core practice areas include:
- Truck Accidents — Commercial truck and 18-wheeler crashes involve complex federal regulations, multiple liable parties, and aggressive corporate defense teams. We have the resources and trial experience to take them on.
- Car Accidents — Michigan’s no-fault system is one of the most complex in the country. We help injured drivers, passengers, and pedestrians recover both PIP benefits and third-party damages.
- Motorcycle Accidents — Motorcyclists face unique legal challenges in Michigan and often serious injuries. We fight bias against riders to secure full recovery.
- Wrongful Death — When a family loses a loved one to someone else’s negligence, we pursue justice and the financial security families need to move forward.
- Catastrophic Injuries — Including traumatic brain injuries (TBI), spinal cord injuries, burn injuries, and electrocution injuries. These cases require lifetime care planning and the kind of medical and economic expert testimony our firm is known for.
We also represent clients in other matters – please review our practice areas. Our experienced trial attorneys have secured record-setting settlements and verdicts for accident victims throughout the state.

Our Firm
Christensen Law was founded in 1991 by attorney David Christensen with a singular focus: to give seriously injured Michigan residents access to the same caliber of legal representation that insurance companies and corporate defendants reserve for themselves. More than three decades later, that mission still drives every case we take.
Today, the firm is led by founder Dave Christensen and managing partner Sarah Stempky-Kime, with a team of trial attorneys and support staff working out of five offices across Michigan. Our growth has never come at the expense of our values—we remain selective about the cases we take so that every client receives the full attention and resources their case deserves.
Our Purpose
At Christensen Law, our experienced trial attorneys and compassionate staff are guided by three core principles: listen, protect, and win.
- To protect, guide, and represent those who may not otherwise have effective access to justice.
- To ensure those whose lives have been impacted through no fault of their own receive the compensation and justice they deserve in order to safeguard their future.
- To be the voice of the often unheard.
We understand the frustrations and stress that people encounter after being hurt in an accident and know that insurance companies often try to take advantage of victims struggling with serious injuries.
That’s why we put every resource we have into recovering maximum compensation for our deserving clients. We take on the burden – and the costs – of your lawsuit; it costs you nothing until we win, and consultations are always free.
What Sets Us Apart
Our ethos is rooted in empathy, as demonstrated by our commitment to compassionate client care. But empathy is only the starting point—what we do with it is what makes the difference.
A True Trial Practice
Most personal injury firms settle the vast majority of their cases—and insurance companies know it. We don’t operate that way. Our attorneys prepare every case as if it is going to trial, and we have the courtroom record to back it up.
Insurance carriers across Michigan know that when Christensen Law sends a demand letter, we are fully prepared to take the case in front of a jury.
Hall of Fame Leadership
Firm founder David Christensen has been inducted into the Michigan Lawyers Weekly Hall of Fame and is a member of ABOTA—a distinction held by fewer than 1% of trial attorneys nationwide. This level of recognition is not given for advertising; it is earned through results in the courtroom.
Record-Setting Results
We have secured some of the largest personal injury verdicts and settlements in Michigan history, including a $17.8 million personal injury verdict. Our results reflect the depth of preparation, the medical and economic expertise we bring to each case, and our refusal to accept lowball offers.
No Fee Unless We Win
We handle every case on a contingency-fee basis. You pay nothing upfront, and you owe us nothing unless we recover compensation for you. Consultations are always free.
Direct Access to Your Attorney
We are known for taking the time to speak with our clients whenever they need us. We answer the phone when you call, respond to emails promptly, and keep you informed at every stage of your case.
