Lawsuit Filed Against Michigan State University

Alleges Negligence & Civil Rights Violations Following 2023 Mass Shooting

DETROIT – 2.13.2025 – Christensen Law, on behalf of Plaintiff Justin Bowman, has filed a lawsuit against multiple defendants including Michigan State University (“MSU”) and its agents and employees surrounding the tragic mass shooting on February 13, 2023. This lawsuit seeks accountability for the university’s actions that contributed to the preventable, long-term harm suffered by the Plaintiff.

“This lawsuit is about justice, accountability, and ensuring that no other students, faculty, or families have to endure the pain and suffering caused by institutional failures,” said Nora Hanna, attorney for the Plaintiff. “The university had a duty to protect its community, and it failed. Our client deserves answers, and he deserves change.”

Christensen law remains committed to obtaining justice for the Plaintiff and will not rest until those responsible are held accountable.
