MAY 30 – JUNE 1ST – ALISTAIR’S SUNRISE TENNIS OPEN

Fundraiser – Open to the Public

Join us to help raise awareness for epilepsy and support local organizations providing aid for those living with the disorder. Christensen Law’s managing partner, Sarah Stempky-Kime, is working hand-in-hand with tennis coach Bill Smith of Bloomfield Open Hunt to facilitate this inaugural event.

This summer marks the 5th anniversary of Sarah’s youngest son Alistair’s neurosurgery at UCLA Medical Center under the magical care of Dr. Aria Fallah. Making an almost impossible decision, Sarah and Dan elected to pursue the complex removal of half of his brain (a hemispherectomy) to stay the ravages of early epilepsy and persistent seizures. They brought Alistair to LA while his brother Atticus and sister Wilhelmina, extended family, and a veritable tribe of family friends donned their Alistair-Superman t-shirts in support during the 9+ hour surgery and lengthy recovery.

Purple is the color of Epilepsy Awareness – we wear it with pride to honor those afflicted, and in the hope there will someday be more accessible and less invasive options for a cure. Participation in this tournament directly benefits local organizations who work tirelessly to aide those living with epilepsy. They, and Alistair, thank you for your role in raising awareness. That support has brought so much happiness to Alistair – allowing him to enjoy his new-found love of tennis, and of course, Coach Bill!

You can download the sign-up form for the tournament here, and send your completed form to bsmith@bohclub.com. We hope to see you out there!

For more information, feel free to contact Coach Smith or Sarah directly.
