Darren joined the firm in April of 2023 as an Accounting Specialist to assist with the workflow and deliverables of the accounting department.
His day-to-day includes preparation of case settlement reports and cost schedules, processing liens and medical billing, as well as general finance duties including accounts payable, e-banking, assisting with audits, payroll, time management, and maintaining inventories. He has also taken on the responsibilities of in-house IT, assisting with equipment, software, and troubleshooting to ensure the continuous operations of the firm.
After completing his BBA at Western Michigan University, Darren worked in the family construction business before joining CLAW as his first position in accounting. Longer-term professional goals include attaining his CMA or potentially attending law school. “Learning is a life-long focus,” says Darren of his continued interest in higher education.
He enjoys reading, all genres of music and music theory, writing comedy sketches, and dabbling in abstract oil painting. A sports enthusiast and former Varsity Lacrosse and football player, he works out regularly and has recently taken up compound bow-and-arrow archery. A keen outdoorsman, Darren enjoys camping and hiking as often as possible.
