INFLUENTIAL WOMEN IN THE LAW
BEST LAWYERS – LAWYER OF THE YEAR
AMERICAN BOARD OF TRIAL ADVOCATES
Sarah Stempky-Kime is the Managing Partner of Christensen Law and one of Michigan’s most accomplished plaintiffs’ trial lawyers. Over the course of her 16-year career, she has built a reputation for leading complex, high-exposure litigation involving traumatic brain injury, wrongful death, and other catastrophic injury cases, securing multiple seven- and eight-figure verdicts and settlements for seriously injured clients and their families. Integral to the firm’s growth and success, Sarah has worked alongside founder David Christensen since 2009, helping shape a collaborative, client-centered practice defined by trial readiness, strategic advocacy, and a deep commitment to justice.
Known for her command in the courtroom, Sarah combines compassionate client service with exceptional litigation skill. She is widely respected for her ability to navigate challenging cases, connect with juries, and advocate powerfully for individuals and families facing profound loss and life-altering injuries. Her professional excellence has earned her recognition from Best Lawyers, Super Lawyers, and Michigan Lawyers Weekly, and she is also a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates.
Beyond her trial practice and firm leadership, Sarah is an active leader within the plaintiffs’ bar and the broader legal community. She serves as a Council Member of the Michigan Association for Justice Negligence Section and is a regular presenter for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education. She is also deeply involved in neurological and disability advocacy through her service on the Board of the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan and her support of organizations focused on brain injury recovery and awareness.
Sarah’s advocacy is informed not only by her work as a trial lawyer, but also by her personal experience navigating the realities of childhood neurological injury and rehabilitation within her own family. That experience has deepened her commitment to advancing hope, dignity, and opportunity for those facing disability, and to promoting equity, inclusion, and the protection of civil and constitutional rights for historically marginalized communities.
Sarah lives in Birmingham with her family and remains active in community outreach and charitable initiatives that support children and families across metro Detroit.
